Hi guys, The largest passenger aircraft in the world touched down at Logan today. I am not sure how long it's gonna be here, but I expect it to be gone by the snow on Wednesday. It is at the North gate, near Signature Aviation. they are giving tours to all the media and politicos. ( Who says...
In aviation there are a few ways for plans to communicate about air traffic control. Tower (I think it encompasses usually 5 mile radius around the airport and planes have to call in about 10 miles out). TRACON (Terminal Radar example from Logan aka Boston Approach or Bradley Approach)....
Active over the Fenway Park area is a number of aircraft working the game for TV, about to start. Some talk of working at various levels, 1800, 2000. This should have increased activity as the game gets underway. Something to listen to during the game, too.
What are Boston Center frequencies in this area.
WW II (P-51, B-24, B-17). The aircraft will be available for public tours and if you have $$ a pilot will take you up for a tour. http://www.telegram.com/article/20090927/NEWS/909270606/1011

What would Joe Green say about this? On the KOWD CTAF, I heard the Fox25 helo pilot mention that it's, "Not so good for the 'BZ pilot". Not sure if that meant he wouldn't be staying on staff. ...
I was just wondering what the correct name for the airport is. also the frequency for 118.200 what is it used for in the cape area
The RadarBox arrived today. I have it connected to one of my Scantennas, definitely not the best antenna solution for 1090 MHz. I'm just starting to learn the software and I'm seeing some flight activity regardless of the marginal ears. A better external antenna solution is enroute. One neat...
In the not too distant past I was hearing ARINC providing oceanic clearance to overseas flights on 125.925. That frequency seems to have gone "dark" with regards to such clearance assignments for the most part as of late. I've heard a few references to 129.900 but there doesn't seem to be much...
Hi, What great forums and resource. Anyone happen to know what 130.900 is ? Think it's aero. "related" Trying to clean up some old files. Looked in the Confirmed and fcc databases, but nothing came up
Anyone have a good win500 airshow frequency file to share??
Today I received the March issue of Monitoring Times that has a guide to monitoring air shows. It includes frequencies of the major players at air shows, schedules, and an equipment guide. If anyone plans to attend an airshow in the area this coming summer I would advise you to get a copy. It is...
I've casually listened to civilian aviation for years. This AirNav RadarBox is definitely taking this to an entirely new level. I never really followed the sequence of how aircraft were "handed off" for overseas flights until tonight. Understanding that I'm reasonably new at following this at a...
Hi everyone, Below is a link to a story regarding the recent flight 3407 crash and postings on LiveATC.net. Very interesting article: http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20090217/NEWS11/90217012/-1/rss01 Scannerbuddy
I've noted on some other lists that the SARSAT will no longer listen for the Emergency Locator Signal Tones on 121.5 & 243.0 mhz. So Civil Air Patrol and others that search for the becacons will have to rely on aircraft or ground station reporting. General Aviation aircraft were not required to...
Never heard of these guys. Just caught them on the radarbox, flight from Orlando to London Gatwick. Just passed over Nantucket and now east of the Cape. ID when I hover over the position with my mouse indicates First Choice Airways, but it's listed as "Thompson Fly" in the log. Aircraft is a Boeing...
I took a stab at putting together a list of airline company freqs in the 128.85-132.0 range by monitoring from my house over the last week. Enjoy. :) Albany 130.100 Republic Bangor 131.325 Comair Bedford 131.525 Jet Aviation FBO 130.800 Signature FBO
OK, I confess. One of the reasons I added an aviation forum is because of after a week of research I became convinced that I wanted one of these. Airnav Radarbox I became convinced enough that I used the $$ I had socked away for a BC396XT (looks like springtime now for that scanner's...
