The Bearcontrol and Beardisplay are the original ‘remote port’ based control heads, supporting the BC780xlt, BC895xlt, BC898t and BC246t. See the documents and files below for information on building these circuits.
NOTE: These remote head circuits will NOT work with the newer line of Uniden scanners, including the BCT15, BCD996, BCD396 and BR330t. A new revision of the remote head is currently under development to support these models.

Auto-Light
'Auto-light' is a firmware file which can be programmed to the Bearcontrol hardware, providing a squelch activated backlight for the BC898t. Follow the schematics in THIS document and simply leave the LCD and keypad circuitry open. Although this has only been tested on the 898t, it should work on the BC780 as well.
