This System was built in 1987, and converted over to a Motorola System in 2002.
The RIDOT TRS will eventually be combined with the RIPTA TRS.
The Coverage of this System was designed for Mobiles and expansion of the RIDOT TRS under the current frequencies are restricted by the FCC.

Coverage is poor in parts of the State, which two conventional repeaters fill these gaps.The repeaters are on 853.3625, one is in Cumberland and one is on Block Island fill these gaps. These two Repeaters are independent from the RIDOT TRS.
Central Dispatch is located in Providence.
